Service Description
The Scholarship of Engagement (SoE) Assessment System for Societal Impact (SI) Reporting at Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) workshop of the CEU has been developed to assist Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) with the classification, planning, implementation, assessment and reporting of their Engagement status; all of which would contribute to the ability of HEIs to quantify and qualify their social transformation impact. This need is specifically linked to the Societal Impact (SI), (Broader Impact (BI) as per the USA), requirement of HEIs. Transformation policies to address past inequalities have been globally, regionally, and nationally high on the priority list of governments and HEIs are seen as key stakeholders to ensure for societal transformation. Course Purpose To provide HEI staff with a structured Operationalisation System to assess and validate their Societal Impact (SI) from a Staff to Department/Unit/Centre, Faculty and Institutional level. Workshop Content 1) Defining SoE and Societal Impact 2) Ten-Factor Framework for HEI SI assessment and reporting 3) Assessment System for Societal Impact (ASSI) Application.
